About me!
My name is Morgan Presley, and I have spent the past 20 years as a science educator. More recently, I transitioned into a role in faculty development, where I collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to design meaningful, effective learning experiences.
As long as I can remember, science has been the lens through which I understand the world. It was the only worldview that consistently offered answers to my questions and a sense of clarity. As a child, I struggled to navigate social situations, so I sought refuge in the natural world instead. I grew up surrounded by trees, water, and animals, finding comfort and connection in quiet observation. In my pre-teens, I feel in love fantasy literature, namely The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
I have always been drawn to creativity as well. I loved making art, even though I never felt naturally gifted, often learning by imitating what others created rather than producing something entirely my own. That blend of curiosity, observation, and creation ultimately shaped my educational and professional path. My love of science and nature led me to become a wildlife biologist and, later, a science educator.
Even now, those passions continue to evolve. I remain devoted to science, fantasy and science fiction, crafting, and creative expression. I love to travel and explore the world, always observing, learning, and gathering inspiration. This blog is a place for me to share the intersections of those interests - science, nature, crafting, cosplay, and travel - as well as the joy of lifelong learning.
I am married and have a young son, and one of my greatest joys is sharing my curiosity about the world with my family. This space reflects not just what I study and create, but who I am and how I see the world.
